It is hardly possible to deprive malevolence of every occasion for criticism.

Momus was known for finding fault with everything, even the works of the gods. He complained that the bull’s eyes were placed too awkwardly to see where it was pushing its horns. He criticized houses designed by Minerva, saying they were poorly planned as they couldn’t be moved from bad neighborhoods or other inconveniences. He also found fault in the design of humans, lamenting that they had no windows in their chests to reveal their sincerity or expose their wicked intentions. When asked to critique Venus’s beauty by Jupiter, Momus could find no fault with her appearance or demeanor. However, in a final effort to find something to criticize, he commented that her slippers were too noisy.
