A Village with a Problem

In a quiet village nestled between green hills, the villagers lived simple and happy lives. But one summer, a strange problem arose: the grains in their storage began to disappear. Day by day, the sacks grew lighter, leaving the villagers worried about having enough food for the coming winter.

Determined to solve the mystery, the village elders gathered everyone in the square. “We must protect our food,” said one elder, “but first, we must figure out who is taking it.”

The Sparrow’s Observation

High in a tree, a small sparrow named Chirpy overheard the discussion. Chirpy was known for her sharp eyes and clever thinking. She decided to help the villagers solve their problem.

As the sun set, Chirpy began to watch the granary from her perch. She noticed something unusual: a group of rats sneaking through a small hole in the granary wall. They were nibbling away at the stored grains and carrying them off to their burrows.

“I must warn the villagers,” thought Chirpy, flapping her wings with determination.

The Village’s Reaction

The next morning, Chirpy chirped loudly near the square until the villagers paid attention. “Follow me,” she seemed to say, hopping toward the granary. Curious, the villagers followed her.

When Chirpy fluttered near the hole in the wall, the villagers bent down to inspect it. “Rats!” they exclaimed. “So this is where our food is disappearing!”

But one villager, old Mr. Haran, shook his head. “It’s not enough to know the problem. We must find a way to fix it.”

Chirpy’s Clever Idea

Chirpy chirped again, as if to say, “I have a plan.” She flew around the village and landed near a patch of prickly thorn bushes. Then she pecked at the ground near some dried clay by the riverbank.

The villagers watched her actions carefully. One young boy named Ravi exclaimed, “I think she’s showing us how to block the hole!”

Working together, the villagers gathered thorny branches and mixed the clay with water to form a paste. They sealed the hole in the granary wall with the clay and lined it with the thorny branches to prevent the rats from chewing through again.

A Lesson Learned

That night, Chirpy watched the granary again. The rats returned, but when they saw the thorny barrier and felt the sharp pricks, they scurried away, unable to enter.

The next morning, the villagers celebrated. “Our grains are safe, thanks to Chirpy!” they said. The clever sparrow became a hero in the village.

The villagers also learned an important lesson: understanding a problem is the first step, but taking action is what truly solves it.

The Sparrow’s Legacy

From that day on, Chirpy was seen as a symbol of observation and intelligence. Whenever a problem arose, the villagers would say, “Think like Chirpy. Look carefully, understand, and act wisely.”

And so, the village thrived, its people working together and remembering the wisdom of the clever sparrow who taught them how to solve problems with insight and teamwork.
