The folly of giving power or favor to the undeserving.
A kind Countryman found a nearly frozen Snake under a hedge. Moved by compassion, he brought the Snake home, placed it near the fire, and gave it some milk. Revived by the warmth and nourishment, the Snake soon recovered. However, as soon as it had enough strength, it bit the Countryman’s wife and one of his children, causing chaos and fear in the household.
The Countryman, realizing his mistake, said, “Ungrateful wretch! You have taught me a valuable lesson about the dangers of helping the undeserving.” With that, he grabbed a hatchet and killed the Snake.
