The silly ambition to vie with superiors in outward appearance rather than inner qualities often leads to ruin.

A frog was awestruck by the size and majesty of an ox grazing in the marshes. She decided to expand herself to match the ox’s grandeur. Puffing and swelling, she asked her sister, “What do you think? Will this do?” “Far from it,” her sister replied. She tried again and again, each time failing to reach the ox’s size. Finally, after many fruitless efforts, the frog’s skin burst, and she died on the spot.
