Those we enlist to exact revenge may turn against us.
Before humans domesticated horses, one such animal, having been bested by a stag, sought help from a man. The man agreed to assist, bridled the horse, and rode him in pursuit of the stag. They quickly caught up, and the man killed the stag. The horse, feeling victorious, expected to return to his freedom and rule the forest. However, the man had different plans, saying he would need the horse’s services in the future. He led the horse back to his home, where the horse spent the rest of his days in hard labor, realizing too late that the cost of revenge was far greater than any satisfaction it brought.
