Gentle means are often more effective than force.
Phoebus (the Sun) and Æolus (the Wind) once argued over who could make a Traveler remove his cloak faster. Æolus began, attacking the Traveler with violent gusts of wind. However, the stronger the Wind blew, the tighter the Traveler wrapped his cloak around himself, determined to keep it on.
Then, Phoebus took his turn. He gently beamed his warm rays down on the Traveler. Gradually, the Traveler felt the warmth and began to relax, eventually removing his cloak to enjoy the sun’s comforting heat.
“See,” said Phoebus to the blustering Æolus, “gentle and kind methods often achieve what force and fury cannot.”
