Those who lack humanity rarely listen to reason.

A Wolf and a Lamb were accidentally quenching their thirst at the same stream. The Wolf stood upstream, while the Lamb drank some distance below. The hostile Wolf, eager for a quarrel, demanded, “How dare you disturb the water I am drinking?” Trembling, the Lamb replied, “How can that be possible, since the current flows from you to me?” Frustrated by the truth, the Wolf changed his accusation. “Six months ago, you slandered me,” he claimed. “Impossible,” the Lamb responded, “for I was not born then.” “No matter; it must have been your father or some other relative of yours,” the Wolf retorted, and immediately seized the innocent Lamb, tearing him to pieces.
